Hiking Lion’s Head
The 5km trail is well-maintained and marked, with steps and handrails in place to make the ascent easier. The hike up usually takes about an hour, depending on your fitness level and the pace at which you hike. The hike back down takes about an hour and is a bit easier than the ascent.
The hike up can be steep and rocky in places. It is important to wear a pair of sturdy shoes with good traction. Lion’s Head is exposed to the elements, so it’s important to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
