Located in Cape Town, the Museum of Dogs opened in July 2024.

About Museum of Dogs

The Museum of Dogs was established to celebrate and honor dogs. It highlights the many ways these remarkable animals enrich our lives.

The museum currently features six unique exhibitions, including the history of dogs in South Africa, their cultural significance, and heartfelt personal stories about their impact.

The museum features a photography exhibit by Emma O’Brien, ceramic works by Tania Babb, sculptures by Carol Slabolepszy and Mervyn Dragsund, an exploration of dogs in the White House, and a collection of short films from around the globe. Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits

Events

The museum frequently hosts solo performances, workshops, lectures, film screenings, and a variety of other events. For more information click here.

How much is the entrance fee?

The entrance fees are R100.00 for adults, R50.00 for children under 16 years old, and free for children under 10 years old.

What are the opening days and times?

The opening times are Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 – 17:00.
